Dr. Erin Portillo , MS, DVM, DACVIM, Medical Director Dr. Erin Portillo, our Medical Director, is a fourth generation Chicoan. She has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science & Master’s degree in Immunology from the University of California Davis. She received her DVM degree from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Portillo completed her internship at Mississippi State University followed by a three-year small animal Internal Medicine residency at Iowa State University. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with interests in endoscopy, hematology, and gastroenterology. She is married to Dr. Matthew Portillo and is the proud parent of four dogs, one cat, and a beautiful baby girl Citori. She is very happy to be back in Chico after a long absence to be close to family while starting her own.
Dr. Tori Letner , DVM
Dr. Tori Letner received her DVM from UC Davis in 1999. She strives to provide a caring compassionate environment to her clients and their pets while delivering the highest quality of care. She has special interests in surgery and ultrasound. Her husband Craig is a Radiologist and a Chico native. They have two young daughters and three cats. She enjoys many outdoor activities with her family including biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, rollerblading, and running.

Dr. Suzanne Hanson , DVM

Dr. Suzanne Hanson graduated from UC Davis, earning her DVM degree in 1987. Prior to her admission to veterinary school, she was licensed as a human laboratory technologist after graduating from CSU Long Beach in 1980. In her first years of veterinary practice, she saw both small and large animal patients in Placer County. In 1996 Dr. Hanson purchased the Animal Health Care Clinic in Chico. She has since merged her practice into Mangrove Veterinary Hospital. |

Dr. Lynn Caikoski , DVM

Dr. Lynne Caikoski enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking and cooking. She received her BS in biology in 2001 and her DVM degree form UC Davis in 2005. She has special interests in Laparoscopic surgery and dentistry. She grew up in Sacramento before attending veterinary school. Dr. Caikoski shares her house in Oroville, with her dog, Dexter, and her two cats Fuzzy and Fiona. |

Dr. Carol Wrinkle , DVM
Technicians
Ms. Jan Yaroslav , Registered Veterinary Technician, VTS (Dentistry) Jan began her career in veterinary medicine by volunteering at a Bay Area humane society while in high school. In 1978, she received an Associate in Science degree in Animal Health Technology from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. She spent the next 13 years working for Companion Animal Hospital, a large specialty facility in Belmont, California. Before beginning her tenure at Mangrove Veterinary Hospital in 1991, she was employed by Stanford University. Jan has received advanced training in veterinary dentistry and received her Vet Tech Specialist Board Certification in 2008. She also has a special interest in reproduction. Her hobbies include breeding and showing Pembroke Welsh Corgis and miniature horses, camping, and reading science fiction and fantasy.

Lisa enjoys writing poems, listening to music, playing basketball, and spending time with her daughter and her new puppy named Rosie. She has been in the veterinary field for 20 years and her interests include dentistry, and nursing care. |

Samantha Sutfin , Veterinary Assistant

Samantha likes to be around animals. She has lived in Northern California her entire life. Sam enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, horse back riding, being around family and friends and spending time with her three dogs Sage, Coalby and Sitka and her horse Shaybob. What she enjoys most about working at Mangrove Veterinary Hospital is being able to communicate with the public about the health and well being of their pets. Samantha also really enjoys dental treatments and giving our patients a warm and healthy smile. |

Shaun Fredrickson , Veterinary Assistant
| Shaun enjoys spending time with his wife Leah and young daughter Ella. He likes gardening, cooking, and home renovations. He has a cat named Widget and a dog named Delilah. He graduated from the ROP Veterinary Assisting Program in 2000 and is currently enrolled in the Pre-Veterinary Program at Chico State. |

Cassie Steiner
| Cassie enjoys riding her bike around town, listening to music, and hanging out with her family and friends. She graduated from ROP Animal Veterinary Assisting Program in 2007 and has been working to help animals ever since. She loves spending time with her trio of kitties and her two rabbits. |

Rosemary is recently married and has a 6 month old kitten named Abby. She has a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and her goal is to go to Veterinary School.

| Jane is a graduate of Chico State University where she studied nutrition and food science. She currently is studying to be an EMT and later plans on attending nursing school. She was raised in Redwood City and enjoys biking, hiking, cooking, watching movies, listening to music, playing sports, going to shows, and of course spending time with her pets! |
